The importance of arriving at conclusions in political struggle

 Dear friends,

The importance of arriving at conclusions in political struggle

I would like to raise few questions to you all(especially to my friends  in Pravada Kavaya). With all my experience and relationship I had all these years with you all I felt it is necessary that I raise these questions to you in brotherhood and, because of the fundamental, public nature of these questions, I will post this few thoughts in our Society’s website too.

Firstly, let me emphasize that, for each individual as a human being, it is mandatory that he has a world view of the society, the civilization. A person should have his own idea of the working of the society, but what matters most importantly is that his approach is critical. One has to clearly identify the existing ideologies and readings of the historical evolution of the human civilization and its modern manifestations. If he does not have a reading of each and every fact of the society, he is not a ‘political’ being and it is compulsory for a political being to have conclusions, to specify once own standing. It is simple fact that where conclusions are not, whether right or wrong, one is disoriented and strayed. Only when we have conclusions we can find out what is write or wrong in critical analysis. On each and every aspect of the society, one should have conclusions and at the point of inquiry it is one’s duty to critically evaluate, criticize, analyze these conclusions from the very bottom of the social and universal manifestations. Until we go into this self quest, self clarifications, self studies we would either have wrong or prejudicial points of view or conclusions of the world or we would be disoriented. Only when you have frankly questioned yourself, your own conclusions that you are able to see what is right and what is wrong, again as per your understanding. The basic problem is therefore whether we are continuously in this process self analysis of our conclusions. So first, I suggest, let us identify our concussions and prejudices, which is mandatory. Then we must critically question them systematically. This the correct way for the search for truth, fact. Are you doing this?

As per the readings of the world I have so far done, I have come to conclusions that I ever recognize a question. So, I have conclusions and a standing on any topic, which may be right or wrong to you as per your conclusions. Good, then we come to the next stage, which is Discussion, with open mind to question our conclusions together.

So, I am telling you, that I am a Marxist/a socialist, and also Trotskyite.  I have come to this conclusion. Also going further, within the Marxist/ leftist orientation, I have come to conclusions as to the Socialist programme and as to the strategy too. I have recognized that the leadership of a world party for socialist revolution is mandatory; that this capitalist society driven by profit system consists of distinct major classes of oppression and exploitation; that the capitalist system is inherently embedded with contradictions and the repercussions of which are to be born by the majority of the poor of the world; that this oppressed workers/masses is the only revolutionary class that only can transform this world in to a socialist society of equality and democracy;  that no discussion or amicable settlement between classes will transform the society revolutionarily; that all forms of reformism, radicalism, fundamentalism should be rejected; that working class should be educated and united for the revolution, rejecting all forms of so called leftist forms that somehow or other bind the people with the ruling class; that material conditions primarily contribute to mould the thinking of man; that people all over the world are suffering because of this unjust system and they fight against it,  but they should be led on the correct perspective and strategy and so on.

Now, let me put forward the following major questions to each of you:

1)     Are you confident enough to identify yourself as a Marxist/ Socialist?

2)     If you cannot identify yourself as a Marxist/Socialist, are you not in someway or other supporting the existing hegemonic ideologies of Neo-liberal Capitalism?

3)     If you can truly identify yourself as a Marxist/Socialist, what is the strategy that should be adopted to advance Socialism?

So I suggest you have conclusions and identify your own prejudices. Question them fundamentally, critically and patiently and find out how you can make the maximum contribution to fight against this profit system of crisis and build a better world. Hope you raise the above questions too from yourself and systematically build yourself up politically.

In solidarity,

Sanjaya.
